Train-the-Trainer: Connecting Identity to Social Services
Course Details
- Three all-day sessions
Capacity: 20 participants
Join The Nova Collective’s learning leaders for an immersive facilitation skill-building program, giving you the tools to lead the impactful “Connecting Identity to Social Services” workshop for your staff. This program will provide you with an accessible entry-point to facilitating dialogue, so that your staff can:
- Connect current staff and program participants dynamics to historical impact
- Reflect on how their individual experiences around social identity influences their work with program participants
- Practice interrupting bias using the ACT Framework
- Apply what they’ve learned to shift program culture and climate
Signing up for this session is a critical part of the ecosystem that will sustain the work of the REIB Statewide Initiative into the future.
Session Structure
The 3 day structure of this training includes:
Part 1
Experiencing the Content
Part 2
Understanding Our Approach and Self Work
- Dig deeper into content knowledge including county history and key terms
- Build an understanding of concepts and skills within the curriculum (e.g. multipartiality and dominant/counter narratives)
Part 3
Content Facilitation & Gain Tips and Tools
- Practice facilitation and challenging conversations
- Partner with colleagues to practice and adapt facilitation approaches
- Practice interrupting bias using the ACT Framework
